Letterboxing Event

Oh my goodness, this was a great event today! Don't get me wrong...it was HOT, sticky and the kids were taking turns melting down but overall it is something that seems like TONS of fun. While I don't like the park, the heat or hiking, I still managed to drag myself to the event (20 minutes late albeit, but I still went) for my son. I knew that it was something he would enjoy. I know that Stephanie (like myself) is far from the outdoors girl and she had a good time too--for the sake of her son also. The kids loved looking for the boxes (aka treasure) and stamping their books.

For those of you unsure of what letterboxing is: LETTERBOXING is an intriguing pastime combining navigational skills and rubber stamp artistry in a charming "treasure hunt" style outdoor quest. A wide variety of adventures can be found to suit all ages and experience levels.
Here is a great site to get started if you're interested in taking your kids out: http://www.letterboxing.org/

Thank you Melinda G. for introducing us to this fun family event. We really did have a great time and I am looking forward to doing this again...once it's not 90+ degrees, muggy and raining! ;)
