FM takes over the Carroll Manor Fire Department

Today the children of FrederickMommies took over the Carroll Manor Fire Department in Adamstown. Thank you to the firemen that we nice enough to talk to the kids, showed them their equipment, and let them climb all over the engines. We had a HUGE turn out. Evidently they were only expecting 11 kids as of yesterday to have more than 30 show up this morning.

We started the morning in their meeting area where they spoke to the kids about safety, how to dial 9-1-1 and then what a fireman looked like in his entire gear to prevent children becoming scared incase of an emergency! They ended it with the kids touching and exploring their gear.

Next we went outside where the kids were able to climb on all of the equipment. The kids were able to look in the engines, climb, pretend to steer, etc. This is always a favorite for the children as they explore and push buttons. The firemen were nice enough to turn on the siren and even flash the lights for the kids to see.

We want to thank all of the firemen at Carroll Manor for allowing us to come in today and to Brandi for setting this event up! Thank you to everyone that came out also!
