Lisa Marie: the joy of two

The first photos of Lisa Marie Presley and her twin girls, Finley and Harper, have arrived in a People exclusive. "I really wanted these babies," says Presley, 40, who tried for two years to get pregnant before conceiving the twins.

"My blood was too thick and would clot, which caused several miscarriages," she tells People. "The moment I took blood thinners, I got pregnant."

Although poor old Lisa Marie was chastised for looking 'too fat' when she was pregnant, she admits, "I was unable to see my toes by the fourth month, but I only gained 30 lbs. total. I worked out up until the seventh month."

There you have it. Elvis would be proud.

Lisa Marie: a baby bump built for two

Lisa Marie Presley is baring all for the September issue of Marie Claire on newsstands 12 August. Pregnant with twins, you might remember that Lisa Marie was pretty miffed a few months back when she was attacked for being 'fat' well before she had announced that she was pregnant. According to the this new article, 'baring all' is her way of getting back at fat taunts:

"The tabloids were going so far as to alter photos. I could never figure out why they went to all that trouble to make me look fat. "There are at least six other famous women pregnant right now who aren't getting picked on," she says in the interview. "But they're all over me. It's like there is a campaign to demean me."

"You know what I think when I see those fat photos? I am not going to let them control me. I just let it all hang out. You want to look at me? Go ahead and look." "I am trying to grow another human being," she adds. "Besides, I'm 40! I'm lucky to even be able to do this."

But apparently the controversy doesn't stop here. According to one of her recent blog posts, LMP is pissed off at Marie Claire for taking her quotes out of context:

"I gave a 3 hour heart felt interview and what became of it was. Quotes that were usually about something else entirely in the conversation, grossly simplified and taken way out of context and sprinkled randomly and erroneously throughout the 2 pages [sic]."If you want it [the magazine] for the photos then great but I am not behind the article at all."

Lisa Marie Presley: pregnant and pissed off

Finally, celebrities are fighting back against rumours of 'fat' and not pregnant. Lisa Marie Presley is suing Britain's Daily Mail for 'vicious' attacks on her 'growing physique'. The Daily Mail earlier this week was not very subtle in noticing her weight gain saying:

"Bloated Lisa Marie is now the double of dad Elvis"

Well, they've been served and Lisa Marie wrote on her MySpace blog:

"They couldn't wait to find out if my weight gain was because I was just overeating, in which case It would be open season and they can do the old following in her fathers sad and unfortunate demise story again or less interesting for them and probably much to their dismay, I could just be pregnant and therefore have a legitimate reason for weight gain at which point they should probably wipe the saliva off of their fangs and put them back in their mouths or they may expose the black little souls that they are".

I was amused to see Daily Mail's change of heart with this headline today:
Pregnant and proud: Lisa Marie Presley shows off her baby bump

The Brit's are clearly trying to appease before being forced to pay for their sins, going so far as to suggest that 'Lisa Marie looked radiant and every inch the happy mother-to-be' as she stepped out with her husband Michael Lockwood.
